We inform you that Youth Initiative for Human Rights Montenegro (YIHR MNE) had a press conference on 18 November in cooperation with ARCT from Albania, YIHR in Serbia and IRCT in Denmark on topic fight against torture. On this press conference we indicated on challenges of countries of Western Balkan in fight against torture, which is primarily reflected in implementation of standards and large space for impunity.
At the press conference we also presented regional project “Building free of torture and impunity societies in Western Balkans” that will be implemented in following 30 months in cooperation with YIHR Serbia, ARCT and IRCT. The project is supported by the European Union. Goal of the project is contribution to the society free of torture through civil society activities that are directed against torture and other inhuman, cruel and degrading treatment or punishing and promotion of international standards, especially OPCAT.
Milan Radovic, Coordinator of Human Rights Program in YIHR MNE, Maja Micic, Director of YIHR Serbia, and Erinda Bllaca, Project Manager in ARCT spoke at the press conference.
