The Youth Network of Montenegro was founded by 35 youth organizations, organizations working with and for young people, as well as youth unions. The network is an umbrella organization of young people, whose mission is to represent the rights and interests of young people, create and advocate solutions to systemic challenges, connect youth policy actors and strengthen the capacities of members. The Youth Initiative for Human Rights is a member of this network.

In order to develop a strategic plan, as well as an analysis of the current situation in youth policy and the position of youth in Montenegro, the Youth Network organizes six focus groups with young people on key topics for social life: education tailored to young people; youth policy; youth activism and participation; labor market and youth employment; health, safety and growing up; both culture and youth. The focus groups will be moderated by the members of the Board of Directors of the Network, and due to epidemiological conditions, they will be organized online – through the ZOOM application. Young people will have the opportunity to discuss the mentioned topics with the members of the Management Board, within groups of ten young people, for a maximum of 90 minutes.

The Strategic Plan is a key document for the work of the Network, through which this umbrella organization plans to form annual work plans. The strategic plan will contain several strategic goals, and will be valid for a period of three to four years. The data we will collect through these focus groups will be used by Network member organizations to create proposals for the content of the strategic plan.
