The Centre international de formation europ\u00e9enne (CIFE) in Nice, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Belgrade and the Crossborder factory in Berlin are inviting young people from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Germany, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia to our programme:<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cEscaping the Loop of Nationalism and Populism\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Become part of a group of\u00a0<\/span>16 participants<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>from\u00a0<\/span>eight European countries\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>who will meet during\u00a0<\/span>three 5-day-workshops<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>in<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Berlin, Nice and Belgrade between June 2022 and March 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting applications is\u00a01st of May 2022<\/u><\/b>. In order to apply to the programme, please fill out the application form, which can be found\u00a0here<\/b><\/a><\/span>.<\/i><\/p>\n

Together, we want to engage with the growing challenges to democracy in Europe and the Western Balkans posed by nationalism and populism. In a spirit of (self-) critical thinking and constructive debate, we will explore and question dominant perceptions and narratives about our values and identities, our respective understandings of history, the role of the media (both mainstream and social), of free speech, fake news, democracy and propaganda.<\/p>\n

We will cooperate in working groups, joint discussions, with guest speakers, in visits to important sites and opportunities for creative inputs across three different European cities.<\/p>\n

Our aim is to encourage an atmosphere where learning from each other by listening to each other \u2013 with basic respect for views other than our own \u2013 becomes possible.<\/p>\n

The programme consists of\u00a0<\/span>three workshops:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Berlin, Germany (June 6-12, 2022)<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Belgrade, Serbia (September 2022)<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Nice, France (March 2023)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The workshops build on each other thematically, and the programme lives of the shared group experience over time. Therefore, it is important to us that participants are prepared to attend\u00a0<\/span>all three workshops.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Eligibility:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    The program invites young activists, students, artists and individuals interested in dialogue and exchange with other young Europeans, aged 18-30.<\/p>\n

    Eligible participants need to be residents in one of the following countries:\u00a0<\/span>Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Germany, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.<\/em><\/p>\n

    Cost:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    The cost for participants from\u00a0<\/span>France and Germany<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>90 EUR<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The cost for participants from\u00a0<\/span>Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia\u00a0<\/span><\/em>is\u00a0<\/span>50 EUR<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    All travel, food and accommodation costs will be covered by the organizers.<\/p>\n

    The working language of the programme is English. At the same time, we want to learn more about the languages of our host countries and all participants. We encourage all contributions!<\/p>\n
